Display Villages
Over the next few months, we spent nearly every weekend visiting display villages all over Melbourne and narrowing down floor plans, builders, inclusions, and prices.
There were several display villages that we went back to several times, mostly because of the range of builders that had display homes there. In particular, we liked the display villages at Kingsford, Saltwater Coast, Williams Landing, Alamanda, Selandra Rise, Keysborough, Providence, and Aurora.
By this stage we had started to identify with the styling and pricing of some of the builders as well. Metricon, Henley Homes, and Carlisle Homes were probably the three that we liked most in terms of design, inclusions and pricing.
There was a lot of work involved in this stage of the game. Not only driving around and checking out the different builders and different designs. But we also found that the more we researched and read forums and blogs, the more we looked for different things each time we went to a display home. It's a big decision to choose the 'right' house, and it takes a lot of time and effort to get right...
