Welcome to our blog!

We started to write this blog part way through the process of selecting a block of land and a house to put on it. So far it's been fun and exciting, and it has definitely been a learning process. Building your own home takes a lot of time and energy, but we're sure it will be well worth the effort.

We wanted to capture as many facets of the buidling process as we could - documenting the sales process, the construction process, our thoughts and ideas, the challenges, the mistakes, and the finished product. It's not only a good way to keep an up-to-date record, but is also something we can look back on in the months and years after we move into our new home.

We hope that our family and friends will enjoy the experience and journey with us, and give us some feedback and suggestions. And we also hope that others who are building or even thinking of building can draw on some of our experiences in the same way that we've read others' blogs to get ideas for our building project.
